Vitoria-Gasteiz Home by Patxi Cortazar Arquitecto

The Vitoria-Gasteiz Home is a contemporary private residence located in Vitoria-Gasteiz in the Basque Country, Spain. This luxurious dwelling was designed by Patxi Cortazar Arquitecto and it is characterized by a minimal exterior with a white facade with contrasting features.
Its monochrome interior gives it an air of peace and tranquility while also providing its residents with stunning views of the surrounding countryside.

Vitoria Gasteiz Home by Patxi Cortazar Arquitecto in Spain

Single-family home built essentially in the ground floor, leaving at the first floor only a little studio at the double height of the room and a guest room with bathroom.

The plot has a leaning slope towards the direction North South, so that the construction is located at the North of it, leaving as much space as possible in the South direction.

The project of the building obeys to a fragmented architecture, in a composition of several volumes, with flat or leaning roofs, depending on the direction and the spaces they cover.

The elevator, connected to the chimneys, formalizes the highest and slimmest volume for its functional necessities, which stands out by fitting around itself the rest of the volumes.

The building is covered by white limestone and black pre-patinated zinc at the leaning volumes.

The orientation of the day spaces is at midday and the night spaces at the orientation North and East.

The design of the building has been made following eco-design criteria. When writing the project, the environmental aspects have been evaluated and we have defined actions for the achievement of the goals, having checked their compliance afterwards.

The building conditioning is accomplished through a system of geothermal heat pump with a radiant and refreshing floor. It has mechanic ventilation with heat recovery, the gaps have solar protection with different characteristics depending on the orientation, and the materials used have sustainability certificates; most of them are recyclable.

White Line by Nravil Architects in Almaty, Kazakhstan

Project: White Line

White Line by Nravil Architects

Nravil Architectsa Kazakhstan-based architecture studio, completed its design for the elegant White Line residence that overlooks the cityscape of Almaty, Kazakhstan.
This 3,229 square foot home sits on a nearly flat site, which made the construction a lot easier since only minimal excavations were performed during the process. One of the most unique features of this home is its exterior design which is formed by a concrete frame coated with a smooth white lime plaster.

White Line by Nravil Architects in Almaty, Kazakhstan

We like to make the house as simple as possible and at the same time interesting. The building is located in a landscape of unique beauty. The main goal was to develop the project without harming the natural landscape. The exterior of the house is conceived, that would look different from different sides and due to this you can enjoy the view of a non-repetitive exterior.

Appearance and interior support the same color, emphasizing the severity and unity of the house. Panoramic energy-saving windows from both sides of the house evoke a feeling of complete openness and privacy with nature. The glass has a reflective property from the outside to reflect trees and clouds, so the house merges as much as possible with the surrounding environment. You can go on the balcony in the morning to drink coffee, enjoy a panoramic view of the horizon and fresh air.

The interior of the house is simple. Monochromatic white color in the interior allows to maximize the sense of space and not to strain the person, to feel clean and relax comfortably.

There were minimal excavations at the construction of the house, as the current relief of the site was perfect. The house stands on stilts. The frame of the house is a concrete structure, which is isolated from the outside and then covered with a flexible, smooth white lime plaster.

Weave House by A-cero on the Mediterranean Coast of Spain

Project: Weave House
Architects: A-cero
Location: Spain
Area: 10,764 sq ft
Photographs by: Marcos Domingo Sanchez

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || ).push({});

Weave House by A-cero

The Weave House is a stunning contemporary home that is located on Spain’s Mediterranean coast. The design belongs to A-cero whose amazing projects are quite popular on our site, one of their prime examples is the Sotogrande House in Cadiz, Spain.
The design is quite similar to the residence that we’re featuring today, although each of their homes are distinct in their own way. As you’ll see below, the Weave House is a bold residential project implemented in A-cero’s distinctive style, featuring black glass and white DuPont Corian as its primary materials.

Weave House by A cero on the Mediterranean Coast of Spain

This house has been designed the distinctive style of the studio managed by Joaquín Torres and Rafael Llamazares architects, according to the design the evolution recent years with more sinuous and organic lines, this single-family house project is located in an exclusive residential area of the Spanish coast.

The property of 1000 sqm is divided into three floors. The basement with the garage, service areas and facilities, the ground floor with the public areas and the first floor where we find the most private rooms such as bedrooms. The whole interior also designed by A-cero has great light with large windows and is connected to the outside with different terraces and porches. There is also a pool on the walkable roof of this house.

The design proposed by A-cero gives strength and subtlety to the whole building. The four facades are different but they follow the same patterns in terms of design. The materials chosen in this case are black glass and white DuPont Corian. Both materials stand out for their high quality and durability and especially in the case of Corian, adapting perfectly to this particular design.

This is a high quality house and the design shows it perfectly by itself. In this house become important the sculptural volumes embracing the building, the construction details between Corian and glass planes and the great plasticity of the facades.

The large plot of this project is located in an elevated position and overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The detailed landscaping was also designed by A-cero in relation with the project.

House N by Estudio GM ARQ in the Buenos Aires Province of Argentina

Project: House N
Architects: Estudio GM ARQ
Location: Belen de Escobar, Argentina
Area: 3,444 sq ft
Photographs by: Alejandro Peral

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || ).push({});

House N by Estudio GM ARQ

Estudio GM ARQ is the Argentinian architecture studio that designed the House N for a client who is a car enthusiast. The design aims to channel the owner’s passions about their vehicles which is the reason behind the prominence of the garage that also serves as a showroom.
The exterior design of the house is quite simple and minimalistic, basically, it is a white box supported on volumes of exposed concrete while the interior is designed with an open plan, creating a social area on the ground floor that consists of the kitchen and a big living room. The upper floor is where the bedrooms and the bathroom are placed, all of which have stunning views of the nearby lagoon.

House N by Estudio GM ARQ in the Buenos Aires Province of Argentina

In the beginning, this house was planned as a weekend residence, but with the progress of the project, the owners were enthusiastic about transforming it into a permanent home. So, certain sectors were expanded, but the original proposal of a white box supported on volumes of exposed concrete, remained.

In order to channel one of the owner’s passions, the garage was given a special prominence, separating it from the rest of the house and designing it so that it could also function as a mechanical workshop and as an exhibition space for vehicles.

The rest of the project included the design of the public area on the ground floor, formed by the kitchen, the big living-room and an en suite bedroom for eventual guests, which also functions as a TV and rest room.

The upper floor houses the children’s bedrooms with a shared bathroom and the main suite, with large dimensions and a careful design in the bathroom, which takes advantage of the views to the lagoon.

Hollywood Hills Residence by Fran Silvestre Arquitectos

Fran Silvestre Arquitectosan architecture firm coming from Spain, have designed a stark white residence with an angular form in the hills of Hollywood in Los Angeles, California.
The Hollywood Hills Residence is a contemporary home located high up in the exclusive neighborhood in LA. The design of it is based on the client’s wishes to make the absolute most of the outstanding views that the site has access to.
As you can easily see in their Aluminum House design, the exterior, as well as the interior design of this house is typical for this studio’s portfolio. Check out all the details in the photos below, as well as in the architects’ description of their project.

Hollywood Hills Residence by Fran Silvestre Arquitectos in Los Angeles, California

Placed on top of historic Hollywood Hills, the ones which draw Los Angeles profile where part of Case Study Houses program was built.

The project lays on the ground, adapting to its hard slope and conditions, carrying out a change of direction at house level in order to frame the horizon of the city till the ocean. John’s view, who will live the home, was determinant for its design.

A monolythic piece, hanging from topography and opened to the distant landscape was what he imagined for this place. The access of the plot is at top of Haslam Terrace. Home volume is two floors under street level, respecting the allowed heights.

In the access it is placed the garage and comunications hub that leads to a medium level as a terrace over the landscape that contains the pool.

That two levels, access and terrace, are materialized with a grey stone that mimics with surroundings and entangles the volume that contains the home built on white plaster.

The main floor turns to be able to observe city of Los Angeles, two profiles on “L” shape and arranged inverted configure the mechanism that solves the structure and allows that all stays from home seek the desired views.

n this way the home has an only window ninety-five feet in length, that looks at the city as if it was a device for catching the landscape, maybe as if it was a rear window. Source by Fran Silvestre Arquitectos.
